We spoke to Queens AIA president Gino O. Longo, R.A (ginolongo.com/), about the current state of building in New York City, how the AIA lobbies Washington, and the most architecturally robust city he’s ever visited.
Longo is a past Queens Chamber of Commerce honoree, having received design awards on numerous occasions. At this year’s Queens Chamber of Commerce Annual Building Awards, 22 owners, architects, and builders were honored at the LaGuardia Marriott Hotel for categories that included: New Construction; Rehabilitation, Readaptive Use, Alteration, or Addition; Open or Enclosed Public Space; Interiors; and Public Space.
